Eva-Tabea Meineke holds the position of Ph.D. in the Department of Romance Literature and Media Studies. Following her studies in English, Romance languages and German at the University IULM (Milan) and the University College London (UCL), she was awarded a doctorate in comparative literature at both institutions as part of a cotutelle de thèse. The subject of her doctoral dissertation is the portrayal of cities in European literature at the outset of the nineteenth century. of the 19th century. In 2017, she was awarded a habilitation from the University of Mannheim for her work on Surrealism in Italy and France, and was granted the right to teach Romanistic and comparative literature. Her research interests are focused on French and Italian literature of the 19th to 21st centuries, with a particular emphasis on modernism and surrealism, intermediality (literature and film, music and visual arts), transculturality, Europe in a global context, migration, literature by women, literature and history, romanticism/realism, urban literature.
