The Philosophinnen*-Kolloquium can be taken and summarized as an alternative to the CGC Colloquia for the certificate program Gender Studies!
Thursdays 4-6 pm , SH 2.108
Women* remain underrepresented in philosophy. Among graduates and doctoral candidates at Goethe University Frankfurt, the proportion of women* is just under 40%. As academic careers progress, this percentage drops rapidly – even more drastically than in other disciplines. In light of this alarming gender distribution, which is not unique to Frankfurt, we as Frankfurt-based women* in philosophy aim to support each other in our work across areas of expertise and academic status, to network, and to exchange ideas.
For this reason, we are offering an open, cross-topic colloquium for the discussion of philosophical work by women*. We discuss theses (Bachelor’s and Master’s), as well as dissertations, habilitation projects, or articles. No prior knowledge is necessary. The colloquium sees itself as a space for respectful dialogue and mutual learning.
Although only women* are invited to give presentations, everyone interested is welcome to attend!
