The #4GenderStudies research and action day has been in existence since 2017. It was created in response to social media attacks on gender studies as a whole and individual researchers in particular.
The aim of the research and action day is to make the diversity of gender studies visible and to show that the interdisciplinary academic discipline of gender studies offers relevant contributions to current social challenges.
#4GenderStudies took place for the first time on December 18, 2017. Since then, many centers for gender studies, projects and individual researchers have used the day to highlight the diversity and relevance of gender studies and present their current research.
The CGC has also regularly participated in the day of action, our previous events can be found here.
This year, the CGC would like to draw your attention to the online event of the Center for Gender Studies and Feminist Futurology of the Philipps University Marburg: From 6-8 PM, Dr. Judith Goetz from the University of Vienna will speak on: “Between Transfeindlichkeit und Transchauvinismus - Rechte Transpersonen in der AfD?”. The participation link can be found here.
