Gender Role Attitudes, Integration and Professional Achievement. A Case Study of Female Immigrants from Southeast Asia in Germany
Südostasienstudien
The research draws on the combination of two main strands of gender ideology formation; the socialization explanation and life course approach among female immigrants from Southeast Asian countries in Germany. It aims to explain if the moving to a new country and integrating to a new culture and society with different gender role attitudes bring any changes in their perceptions of gender role attitudes. The author attempts to answer the questions: what changes in gender role attitudes do the moving and integration process bring and how the changes influence the professional achievement of these female immigrants in Germany’s labour market.
