Violence from the past becomes the violence in the present, where, it finds refuge to sustain itself in relationships that center care for others. The care that always comes with an apparent or hidden costs that aren't often investigated or even acknowledged.
Here, in our collaborative project, we explore and build a proposal about getting to know the elusiveness of the systemic violence through dominant understanding of care.
Mudita, as a disabled person with chronic health conditions, will be exploring exclusion as routine: lens through which violence is defined, understood, interconnected and delimited in the dominant paradigm and how far its reach could be, in the context of racialized women with disability and chronic illness.
Clément will be exploring the dominant understanding of care, how white bodies are always seen as ‘redeemable’, possible to discipline and integrate through which it is made dependent on the ontological exclusion and dehumanization of racialized bodies in western Europe.
